Ordering prescriptions
You can order your repeat prescriptions via the online service (may be disabled during the covid 19 crisis) or send an email to the following:
orw.prescriptions@nhs.net
Please note that the prescription clerks can only issue medications that are currently on your repeat. This will mean medications that are required regularly for the last 6 months. If you have had a script more than 6 months ago, this would need to be requested as an email with an explanation for the reason. The clinicians may decline to issue without a formal review (telephone/face-to-face). This will also apply to your pharmacist who may request on your behalf but should be aware of this rule.
NHS England have also communicated guidelines to GP surgeries and pharmacists on what medications can be prescribed and what should be obtained over the counter:

Please allow 48 hours, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your prescription request to be processed. If you have any problems please let us know either in person or by telephone - 01474 352075 for the main surgery or 01474 566497 for our branch surgery).
Please note, we cannot take repeat prescription requests over the telephone. Requests should be dropped in to our surgeries, and can be posted (only if you include a SAE to be returned by post).
Please enquire at reception if you are interested in either of the following alternative ways of ordering repeat prescriptions we now offer:
- Electronic Prescribing Service - your prescription is sent electronically to your chosen pharmacy so you do not need to call in to the surgery to collect it
- Online Services - you can order repeat prescriptions online (and book or cancel routine appointments with a doctor) as long as you have internet access.
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification of when a review is due may be indicated on your repeat prescription order slip.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions if requested to do so. This can be done at times as a telephone consultation.
